Ray News wins first place award in national contest for Maple Syrup story

Ray News, the student-led school news program at Ray Middle School, recently won first place for ‘Best Middle School Feature Story’ in a recent contest held by Student Television Network.

Student Television Network is a national organization known for shaping the next generation of storytellers through broadcast journalism, film, and multimedia education. Their annual contests attract submissions from across the United States. 

The award-winning piece composed by the team at Ray News was an in-depth look at the "Maple Syrup" making process that happens on the Ray Middle School campus.

The first place finish is a remarkable achievement for a program that’s in its first full year of existence and underscores the team's hard work and commitment to excellence in broadcasting.
