The Baldwinsville Community Scholarship Foundation held its 50th Scholarship Awards Ceremony (formerly Moving Up Day) Wednesday night at C.W. Baker High School. This group started in 1974 with 11 community members and a pool of less than $1,000. They gave away a single scholarship that year worth $300. More than 100 students applied for it. Over the years, thousands of community members, businesses, alumni, parents, friends and strangers have contributed to the ever-growing scholarship fund.

Since 1974, the BCSF has given away more than $3 million to more than 3,000 students. This year alone they awarded more than $130,000 to 120 students.

Congratulations to all the recipients!
