Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff,
The suspicious person who entered C.W. Baker High School after student dismissal this afternoon has been identified by law enforcement and is in police custody. At no point were any weapons displayed or threats made toward staff or students. The Baldwinsville Police Department and the district continue to investigate this incident.
Video surveillance showed the individual entering the school as students were exiting the building at the end of the school day. Building doors are locked during the school day and after school hours. A staff member alerted administration about a suspicious person in the building, which initiated emergency protocols. We continue to reinforce “see something, say something.”
I want to take this opportunity to thank the Baldwinsville Police Department, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and State Police for their response and assistance. The safety and security of our students and staff is of the utmost importance. Thank you to our parents and families for your patience and understanding.
We understand that this was a scary situation for those students and staff members who were on our main campus during the incident. We will have counselors available at all our schools for any students and staff who need assistance.

Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff,
The lockdown that was initiated this afternoon at C.W. Baker High School and the lock-outs at Elden Elementary School and Durgee Junior High School due to a suspicious person on campus have been lifted.
At about 2:55 p.m., a suspicious person was reported inside C.W. Baker High School. The school was placed on a lockdown. Elden Elementary and Durgee Junior High School were placed on lock-out as a precaution. Baldwinsville Police Department responded to the school and determined that they were confident that the person left our main campus.
A complete search was conducted by law enforcement to confirm that the adult male left the building as seen on video surveillance. No weapon was reported or observed.
