Lead Testing in School Drinking Water - 2020 Compliance

In order to remain in compliance with regulation 10 NYCRR Subpart 67-4, the district began testing all water outlets in January of 2020 that could be utilized by students and staff for drinking or cooking.  Per the regulation, the allowable limit of lead concentration in water is 15 parts per billion (ppb).  Samples were drawn from all applicable outlets and sent to an independent third party laboratory for processing.  Any outlet that tested greater than 15 ppb was labeled and taken out of service for consumption until remediation and retesting could take place.

To date, all eight educational buildings and the Concession Stand have been tested.  The results of the district’s lead testing and remediation efforts that have been conducted so far are listed below.  Note:  although not required by law, outlets that tested at the allowable limit of 15 ppb received remediation as well.

Baker High School Palmer Elementary School
Durgee Junior High School Reynolds Elementary School
Ray Middle School VanBuren Elementary School
Elden Elementary School Concession Stand
