7 things to know about the 2024 Marching Bees

  1. Golden Anniversary: This is the 50th Anniversary of the Baldwinsville Marching Band! 

  2. A Full Hive: The Marching Bees band is made up of 105 students in grades 7th through 12th.

  3. Rare Bird: The “Red Swan” show features three rare solos for a field band show:

    • Lundy Langstaff, senior, vocals

    • Rey Quiroz, senior, tuba

    • Liam Pallotta, freshman, keytar

  4. In Loving Memory: The 50th anniversary show, including the tuba solo, is dedicated in memory of Jeremy Bossert. Jeremy, a member of the Class of 2011, was an outstanding tuba player who helped Baldwinsville bring home a New York State Field Band Conference Championship in 2009. Jeremy passed away from a medical condition in 2022.

  5. Successful Season: The Marching Bees have placed first in the National class in three New York State Field Band Conference shows (Jordan-Elbridge, Liverpool and Central Square) this season.

  6. Helping Hive: More than 50 adults work and volunteer with the marching band, including 18 staff members and 25 parent volunteers.

  7. Sweet Sixteen: This is Band Director Casey Vanderstouw’s 16th season with the Marching Bees!
