Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,


Happy Friday! I wanted to remind families that we are one week away from February Break. There is no school for students from Monday, February 17th to Friday, February 21st. District offices will be closed on Monday, February 17th in observance of Presidents' Day.


We have a lot of wonderful things going on in our Hive including concerts, special events, competitions and Sectionals! Our students are also being recognized for their many achievements. Please check them out in my announcements below: 


BTAP tickets available now:


The Baldwinsville Theater Arts Program will present the senior production of Anaïs Mitchell’s “Hadestown Teen Edition" in March. The musical opens on Thursday, March 6th and runs until Sunday, March 9th. Online tickets are available now at www.bvilletheater.com. Please use a desktop or laptop computer to order tickets as phones and tablets do not allow you to choose your seats. Tickets are no cost to the public. No online fees are assessed for free tickets. 


2025 Scholastic Writing Awards:


Eleven C.W. Baker High School students won 16 Scholastic Writing Awards in the 2025 competition. Three students, Miranda Barnard, Maddison DiStasi and Sophia Kaubisch, won Silver Keys. See list of winners on our website. This is an extremely competitive awards competition and we are extremely proud of our students' creativity and hard work! Go Bees!


Postseason Athletic Action and Band Events:


  • Boys & Girls Indoor Track & Field Sectionals will be held at 4:30 p.m. today at the SRC Arena on the OCC campus

  • Boys Diving Sectionals Meet will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Nottingham High School

  • Indoor Drumline competes at Phoenix Middle School. Show starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday

  • Winter Guards compete at ES-M High School. Show starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday

  • Girls Bowling Sectionals will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday at Flamingo Bowling Alley


2025 NYSSMA Area All-State Music Festival:


Thirteen student musicians from the C.W. Baker High School orchestra and band programs were selected to participate in the 2025 NYSSMA Area All-State Music Festival. The festival was hosted at Ithaca College on January 31st and February 1st. Congratulations to Vincent Bagan, Mia Bush, Austen Cox, Keira Delardi, Nia Delardi, Chloe Deshaies, Ian Duffy, William Fordyce, Ethan Haahr, Rory Heywood, Victoria Lee, Rey Quiroz and Abigail Mantione. Great job, Bees!


Community Café


Please join us for our next Community Café, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12th at C.W. Baker High School in the cafeteria. The topic discussed will be Project Based LearningGuests will gather in small groups as we share ideas, perspectives and light refreshmentsRegistration is required. We hope you can join us as we explore questions that matter, build relationships and share our knowledge and ideas to help build, educate and empower our students! 


Baker students’ work to be published


Congratulations to C.W. Baker High School seniors Miranda Barnard and Maddison DiStasi for having their work selected by Young Writers to be published in its upcoming anthology of scary stories called "Fright Club: Chronicles of Fear." Miranda wrote "Going Up" and Maddie wrote "The Strangest Sound" for the national contest for high school and middle school-aged writers. The anthology will be published on April 7th, 2025! Go Bees! 


Hall of Fame for the Visual and Performing Arts


Congratulations to the 2025 inductees of the Baldwinsville Community Hall of Fame for the Visual and Performing Arts.The Induction Ceremony is at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in the C.W. Baker High School Auditorium. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Learn more about this year’s class of inductees on the Hall of Fame’s website.
