Van Buren principal to retire

Van Buren Principal Cindy Cronin announced her retirement last month.

Dear Van Buren Families and Friends,

I am writing to inform you that I have made the decision to retire from my position as Principal of Van Buren Elementary.

This was not an easy decision, as I deeply cherish my role and the incredible community we have built together here at Van Buren. Working alongside our amazing students, dedicated staff, and supportive families has been the most rewarding experience of my career.

Although my actual retirement date is October 25, 2025, to ensure a smooth transition for our students and school community, the district has already initiated the search process for my successor, with the goal of having the best candidate in place by July 1st for the start of the 2025-2026 academic year.  I am confident that the dedicated staff at Van Buren Elementary will continue to provide an excellent education for our students under the guidance of the new leader. I am committed to fully supporting the transition process and will work closely with my successor to ensure a smooth handover.

We still have many productive months ahead of us before my departure. While the school year seems to fly by, I intend to make the most of every moment and continue to fully support our school community. 

Together, we have celebrated countless successes and navigated challenges with resilience. We have created a vibrant and nurturing learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I am incredibly proud of the accomplishments we have achieved together.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to you for your trust and support throughout my time at Van Buren. It has been an honor to serve you and your children. I will deeply miss the energy and warmth of our school community.
