Helping Families Get Ready for the 2026-2027 School Year

Posted Date: 07/09/26 (01:55 PM)

As we prepare to welcome students back for another school year, the Baldwinsville Central School District is committed to helping every student start the year ready to learn. Through partnerships with community organizations, we are once again offering several resources to support families as they prepare for the first day of school.

School Supplies

Families who could use assistance with school supplies for the 2026-2027 school year are encouraged to complete our request form.

School supplies will be distributed on August 19 (3 p.m. to 7 p.m.) and August 20 (8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) at Student Services in our District Operations Building on the main campus.

There will also be an option to have supplies waiting for your child the first day of school.

Requests will be filled using each school's supply lists and based on available inventory and donations received through this year's School Supply Drive. (See Below) While we may not be able to provide every item on each list, we will do our best to assemble the supplies students need for their grade level.

Please Note: If you are requesting supplies for more than one student, please complete a separate request for each child.

Immunization Clinics

The district is once again partnering with Drakos Clinical Dynamics and the Onondaga County Health Department to bring immunization clinics directly to our students. Due to construction, this year's clinics will be held at Elden Elementary School, with one clinic offered in August and another in September.

The clinics are available to students with or without insurance and are designed to make required school immunizations as convenient and accessible as possible. By bringing these services directly to our campus, we hope to remove barriers and ensure every student can meet New York State immunization requirements and begin the school year without interruption.

Wednesday, August 19th - 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Monday, September 14th - 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Back-to-School Haircuts

We are also exploring the possibility of offering our Free Back-to-School Haircuts again this year. If your student would benefit from a free haircut before school begins, please indicate your interest on the school supply request form. While we are actively working to secure a location and volunteer stylists, we are not yet able to guarantee that the event will take place.

Your response will help us determine the level of interest within our school community. If we are able to move forward with the event, families who express interest will be contacted with additional information.

Preparing for a new school year looks different for every family. Whether it's checking off a school supply list, making sure required immunizations are up to date or helping a student feel their best with a fresh haircut, we hope these resources make the transition back to school a little easier.

These opportunities are made possible through the generosity of our community partners, local businesses, volunteers and donors. Their support reflects what makes our Hive so special – a shared commitment to helping every student succeed.

Together, we can remove barriers, ease the transition back to school and help every Baldwinsville student walk through our doors on the first day feeling prepared, confident and ready to learn. Thank you to everyone who contributes their time, talents and resources to support our students and families. Your kindness and generosity truly make a difference.

If you have any questions, please email support@bville.org.

Want to Help? Donate to Our School Supply Drive

We are once again partnering with the Christmas Bureau for our annual School Supply Drive, and we invite our community to help ensure every student has the tools they need for a successful school year.

We welcome donations from community members, local businesses, organizations and community partners. All donated supplies will be distributed to Baldwinsville students and families through our back-to-school assistance program.

Most-needed items include: black dry-erase markers, 24-count crayons, Crayola markers, pencils, pens, glue sticks, colored pencils, highlighters, pink rectangular erasers, index cards, sticky notes, plastic pencil boxes or pouches, loose-leaf paper, pocket folders, dividers, composition notebooks and backpacks.

Donations may be dropped off at the Student Services/Special Education Office on the main campus (the white building next to the District Office). Please ring the bell at the main entrance for assistance.

Donation Hours:

  • Now through August 16

  • Monday through Friday

  • 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Every donated notebook, backpack, box of crayons and package of pencils helps a student begin the school year with confidence. Thank you for supporting our students and demonstrating the caring spirit that makes the Baldwinsville community such a special place.
