C.W. Baker High School announces Baker’s Dozen for Class of 2027

C.W. Baker High School proudly announced the Baker’s Dozen for the Class of 2027, celebrating 13 students who have distinguished themselves through academic achievement, leadership and involvement throughout their high school careers.
The Baker’s Dozen is a long-standing tradition at C.W. Baker High School, and Principal Jennifer Terpening welcomed the students into that legacy during a special ceremony this morning in the Baker Auditorium.
“The Baker’s Dozen is a proud tradition at Baker High School that goes back decades, and today, you become part of that legacy,” Terpening told the students.
She recognized the dedication and perseverance that brought each student to this achievement, noting that academic excellence extends beyond earning high marks. The students have developed strong time management skills, advocated for themselves, embraced challenges and surrounded themselves with peers who encouraged them to grow.
As Terpening shared with the students, “Your genuine curiosity and passion for learning fueled your perseverance and success.”
The Baker’s Dozen have also made significant contributions beyond the classroom. Members of the Class of 2027 have taken on leadership roles and participated in activities and organizations including Student Council, class councils, orchestra, band, cross country, Baker News, Community Wide Dialogue, Student Advisory Committee, tennis, chess, wrestling, volleyball, yearbook and Youth Alive.
“Your leadership shines brightly not only inside the classroom but also in clubs and sports teams throughout our school community,” Terpening said.
