Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
I hope everyone found time to relax during the holiday break and enjoyed the emergency closing day yesterday! January is a very busy month for our students with concerts, competitions, Regents exams and the end of the second marking period. I’m excited to see what 2025 has in store for our Bees!
I have a few announcements to share with you today:
Students from all five of our elementary schools and Ray Middle School will participate in the FIRST Lego League competition, a robotics challenge, on Saturday at Ray Middle School. The event is organized by OCM BOCES and we're excited to be the host this year. Our teams of student engineers have designed, built and coded Lego robots to compete against students from several local elementary and middle schools. FIRST Lego League is an international, inquiry-based program that teaches students, ages 9-14, about science, technology and collaboration. The local challenge is in its fourth year. Good luck to our student engineers! We are excited for you and proud of your hard work!
Congratulations to the student-musicians who were selected to participate in the Onondaga County Senior High All-County Festival, which will be held at West Genesee High School today and tomorrow.

If you're a parent or guardian of a 9th grader or below, come hear about the upcoming changes to graduation measures at our next Community Café, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15th at C.W. Baker High School in the cafeteria. Guests will gather in small groups as we share ideas, perspectives and light refreshments. Registration is required. We hope you can join us as we explore questions that matter, build relationships and share our knowledge and ideas to help build, educate and empower our students!
